BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – The Berkeley Heights School District will be accepting online applications in December and January for its Preschool Program for the 2025-2026 school year.
To be eligible, applicants must be residents of Berkeley Heights Township and have birth dates between October 2, 2020, and October 1, 2022. General education students will be selected for this program by lottery. The lottery drawing will be conducted the second week of January and those chosen will be notified by phone. Those not chosen will receive a letter with their waitlist number. Students with special needs will also be included in the Preschool Program as determined by the District Child Study Team.
The Preschool Program will consist of four sections of mixed groupings of three- and four-year old children. Classes will meet four days per week, Monday through Thursday, from 8:50 to 11:20 a.m. for the morning session or from 12:10 to 2:40 p.m. for the afternoon session. Requests for morning or afternoon session placement cannot be accommodated.
The online application is located on the Mary Kay McMillin Early Childhood Center website under the “PreSchool Lottery” link. The application deadline is January 6, 2025. After this date, please reach out to Mary Kay McMillin directly to be added to our waiting list. A birth certificate and proof of residency will be required along with an anticipated non-refundable deposit of $450 only for those students admitted to the program. This deposit will be applied to the last month’s tuition. An anticipated tuition fee of $450 per month will be charged for participation in this program during the 2025-26 school year.
